The Captivations’ team
Ben and Lou Beard
Ben and Lou are a husband and wife team who own and work in the Captivations’ business. This November will be the sixth year they have run and managed Captivations. In that time Ben and Lou have managed to grow the business to what it is now. The business has grown based on providing old-fashioned customer service values – make it easy for customers, deliver quality products at good value and make sure the customer gets the order on time.
Ben is the managing director and works closely with our biggest customers – ASICS and V8 Supercars while Lou manages all the finances. They are a team in all ways and work hard to make sure customers are well looked after.
Lou and Ben are active members of their kids’ primary school plus the junior sports clubs that they are involved in. Both are very excited about introducing new products they can offer existing and new customers. They are also passionate about expanding the business in Australia and in North America. Their many years’ experience in the industry ensures Captivations stays at the forefront of custom sportswear in Australia.
Lee brings to Captivations over 25 years experience in the sporting industry. As an Olympic Silver Medallist from Barcelona in 1992 and representing Australia in field hockey for over eight years, Lee has worked in the sports apparel industry for over 10 years
Lee joins Captivations after returning from an eight-year stint in the USA where he was the Head Coach of the USA Women’s Olympic Field Hockey Team and led them to the Beijing and London Olympic games. While in this role, Lee worked very closely with team sponsor ASICS America in developing the on and off field apparel range for the women’s team sports.
Away from the work place, Lee enjoys following his two sons to all their rugby, hockey, cricket and swimming events. If there is any time left over , a good round of golf is a high priority on the list.
Teamwear Manager – Schoolwear, sportswear and motorsports apparel
Sam looks after our school enquiries as his number one priority but does have a passion for unique graphic design that carries over to netball, cricket and all football codes, as well as custom motorsport apparel.
He’s been in the industry for 25 years and has extensive knowledge of garment fit and pattern making and also fabric construction and performance.
Meeting your important deadline is everything to him so contact Sam directly if you need friendly advice in the following areas:
Away from the workplace you’ll find Sam on the water somewhere in his boat chasing that elusive big one – Sam’s a sports fishing tragic and can often be seen casting invisible lures around the office and watching the weekend weather forecast.
Teamwear Manager – Corporate, selected sports apparel and dancewear
Aussies can claim Crowded House and the first country to invent Pavlova, but this All Black supporting Marmite Kiwi knows the truth.
Prior to entering the sublimation/clothing industry five years ago, Angela was in the Airline industry field for 12 years undertaking various positions such as the New Zealand Account Executive for Emirate Airlines, Korean Air and others.
Angela has a keen eye for detail and understanding her clients’ needs in the following areas:
Coming from New Zealand, Angela also looks after all enquiries from ‘across the ditch’.
When Angela is not at Captivations, looking after her clients at Captivatons, she can be found horse riding or restoring and cruising around (when she’s going…) in Miss Marmalade, her ‘76 Kombi van, with Reece and the dog.
Jannelle Morgan is responsible for the smooth running of all things ‘administration’.
Janelle’s passion is motor sports. She rides a 1200 Buell XB motorbike and has been very heavily involved in the sport of Motorcycle Racing here in Queensland. Her experience at club level includes being a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, so she understands what it means to be a volunteer and how things work within a club.
Her claim to fame is that her dad is the legendary Chad Morgan the ‘Sheik from Scrubby Creek’.
I didn’t inherit any of his musical talent, but I did get my name up in lights by winning business awards and being acknowledged by my peers over the years for knowing my stuff.
If you need help with the placement of your order, information on payment of your account and all things administration, Janelle is the person to call. She takes pride in making sure that every customer’s experience with Captivations from beginning to end is a pleasurable one.
