For the past couple of years Captivations has been providing a small number of custom motorsports shirts for the Engadine High School racing team. That’s right – the high school has their own car racing team.
The high school in Sydney New South Wales is taking part in ‘F1 in Schools Technology Challenge’ – the world’s largest high school technology program. This innovative program involves over nine million students from 17,000 schools across 31 nations.
The competition requires teams of three to six members to design, manufacture, test, race and market a miniature model Formula One style car. The car is propelled down a 20-metre track by a CO2 canister reaching speeds of over 80 km/h.
Most importantly, the program focuses on developing long-term employability skills. Students learn leadership, team building, project management, business planning, public speaking, marketing, collaboration, writing and presentation skills.
This year the Motion Racing team from Engadine High School did such a great job they won the Australian final and as a result will be competing at the World Finals in Austin, Texas in November 2013.
We were so impressed that Captivations will be on board as a team sponsor for this prestigious event and over the coming weeks we’ll be working on some great new Team Australia custom uniforms for the team members to wear when the compete against other national finalists for the world championship.
We look forward to bringing you the details of the team’s exploits and hopefully photos of the new Australian world champions!
Please join us in wishing Motion Racing team every success.
