With Easter comes the pleasures of Hot Cross Buns, Chocolate Easter eggs and a multitude of other goodies while we enjoy the Easter holiday break.

Our 7-Step Easter Survival Guide will mean you can enjoy your Easter treats guilt-free.

1. Go for an early morning walk each day to kick start your metabolism. If you are at the beach for the Easter break, add an early morning swim before breakfast.

2. Treat yourself to a Hot Cross Bun (but only one and go easy on the butter and sugary toppings!) for breakfast after your walk/swim.

3. Have fun with the kids while you work off a couple of kilos: visit the local park swings or play area, throw a frisbie, organise a game of beach cricket. Include physical exercise into your daily routine.

4. Love chocolate eggs? Put a limit on the number you eat and stick to it. One large chocolate or three small ones.

5. Organise an Easter egg hunt for the kids. This is pure fun and you get a bit of exercise hiding the eggs! Traditionally, Easter egg hunts are on Easter Sunday.

6. Eat healthy, tasty meals between the Easter treats. Fish on Good Friday is a Christian tradition – serve grilled fish with a salad and no chips for a healthy option.

7. Have fun! Laughing and smiling make you feel lighter and happier. Even when a bit sad, putting a smile on your dial will make you feel a whole lot better.

Whatever you do, have a healthy, happy relaxing Easter break!
